• Girls to be recommended by a golf professional or brought to the attention of a member of the WHLCGA Girls’ Committee.

The Aims of the Programme:

• To encourage girls to achieve their full potential in a safe, supportive, enjoyable and inclusive environment
• To identify talented girls and facilitate their development through the County Development Programme
• Encourage girls to play in Girls and Ladies County Teams
• Encourage suitably talented girls to join the England Golf Pathway.
Regular quality coaching is provided to help girls improve and keep playing golf.
There are currently 3 coaching centres in the two counties, with ladies from the Girls Committee as managers: -

Coaching Centre Professional Manager
Gaudet Luce Golf Club Russell Adams Jenny Hartley
Bromsgrove Golf Centre Rob Laing Michelle Parry
Burghill Valley Golf Club Andy Cameron Helen Lane

All managers have appropriate training or experience, which enables them to assist with the coaching, are DBS checked, and regularly attend a Safeguarding & Protecting Children course with UK Coaching.
In 2024-5 season, there were three successful County Academy Days bringing all three Academies together, during which our professionals ran two hours of long game, chipping, and putting skills sessions and then, following lunch, they played a 9-hole competition in mixed ability teams exploring different formats. There was a charge of £20 for each of these days.
Following a review of how County coaching was delivered in 2024-5, it is planned to run the 2025-6 season similarly with three County Academy days, but with the addition of two 2-to-3-hour sessions at each of the coaching centres.
County Academy Managers will aim to advise their groups of the dates for Academy Days and coaching sessions at the start of the programme.
In the event of cancelled sessions due to poor weather, alternative dates will be given.

If you know of a girl who is interested in joining, please contact any member of the Girls Committee of WHLCGA.
